The boys from Arkansas are recent converts to Radio Advertising. But like anything else they do, they do it big as this story from Inside Radio reports:
Radio's #1 advertiser: Wal-Mart.
The week leading into Memorial Day saw the discount retailer sharply increase the number of ads it was buying from radio. Media Monitors says Wal-Mart aired 52,284 commercials from May 19-25, nearly 17,000 more commercials than the next-highest advertiser - the HD Digital Radio Alliance. Other top spenders included Home Depot, Verizon and Geico.
