Starbucks Hush Money and Exit Plan

It's been awhile since I've shared anything regarding Starbucks, Starbucks advertising, or Starbucks history so I thought I'd bring you up to date on recent Starbucks news story.

Lately the Democratic presidential candidates have been talking about executive compensation packages. Actually some of my friends at a local (not Starbucks), coffee shop were talking about this subject too the other day.

So when Howard Schultz returned to be the head honcho at the Mermaid Coffee House (Yeah, SB), what did Jim Donald, get in his golden parachute?

"...In return for signing the noncompetition and confidentiality agreements, Donald will receive $1.25 million this year, an amount that Starbucks made public in January..."
And the details of those agreements?

"...Jim Donald, agreed not to work for McDonald's or Dunkin' Donuts as part of a noncompetition agreement...He can work for a grocery chain and other fast-food chains, including Wendy's and Burger King...Donald also agreed not to make derogatory or disparaging comments to the press or anyone about Starbucks, its shareholders and employees. Starbucks' board and principal officers cannot make such remarks about Donald, either..."
