Smart Selling Involves Customers with $$

Who should you try and sell to?

I'd rather sell to people that have money to buy. I've been burned too many times by folks that talked bigger than their bank accounts.

Steve Clark has some wisdom on this subject:

Where Is All Of The Money

22% of US households own 55% of the earned income. That's right 1 out of 5 US households' controls more than half of the income and wealth.

Do you know who they are? Do you know how what their buying motives are and how to sell to them? Are these people part of your ideal customer profile? If they are not they should be.

"We are in the midst of a demographic revolution, with the peak of the baby boomer population, the emerging mass - affluent and other trends and changers --- all converging to produce a new "Spending Class" of consumers that need to be understood and targeted - by you!" says Dan Kennedy.

The 1 out of 5 group is: roughly 200% more likely to own or lease 4 or more cars per household; 50% more likely own at least one new model year car; 200% more likely to rack up $100 per month cell phone bills; 200% more likely to own laptops or handhelds; read twice as many magazines but watch less TV; spend 250% more going to the movies.

Their average yearly expenditures are: $47 for books, $785 for kitchen gadgets, $1303 for furniture, $788 for jewelry - and they out spend members of the 4-in-5 group in every one of these categories. And 28% of them play golf, 97% own a home, they aren't renters. 67% shop online and 33% refuse to do so. (Source: Dan Kennedy and Mendelsohn Affluent Survey, mmrsurvey.com)

If you would really like to get rich you must learn to sell to this group. You need to learn where the money is and then learn how to go and get it. Not a hard concept to understand but one that most salespeople don't get.

Never before have there been so many opportunities to multiply your income by selling to this fast emerging group of the affluent buyers. You need to understand them...realize how abundant they are and learn how to target and attract then ...NOW because this window of opportunity will only be open for about 10 years.
